Dom Pérignon x Stephen Webster

Dom Pérignon x Stephen Webster

Inspired by Dom Pérignon Rose champagne, Stephen Webster has collaborated with the venerable brand on collection of ‘Dark Jewel’ pieces. They are unmistakably Webster with the dark colors and dramatic flurishes, and I have to say I’m partial to the earrings. They would stand out on anyone. Available now.

2013 Grammys Jewelry

Carrie Underwood 2013 Grammys

Carrie Underwood wearing Johnathon Arndt diamond necklace.

The 2013 Grammys have been handed out to a generally more modestly dressed audience this year, as per the CBS memo, but if you thought other elements like jewelry would be ratched up to compensate, you will be disappointed. The one big statement necklace of the evening was wore by Carrie Underwood. Made by Johnathon Arndt, the stunner featured 381 carats of diamonds and is reportedly worth US$31 million.

Clockwise from left: Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Jessica Biel. All wearing Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Other standout pieces of the evening were bold graphic statements in black in white, just like many of the outfits. Alicia Keys’ earrings also featured a snake, and she wore a matching ring.

Rihanna 2013 Grammys

Snakes were also wrapped around Rihanna’s wrist and fingers courtesy of Neil Lane.

Allison Williams 2013 Grammys

Allison Williams wearing Kaufman Franco dress and Stephen Webster jewelry.

You’ve seen plenty of bejeweled dresses on red carpets, but this one takes it to a new level. Allison William’s Kaufman Franco dress is actually encrusted with black diamonds! She also added some Stephen Webster jewels to top it off.

2013 Year of the Snake Jewelry

Elise Dray Snake Bracelet

White gold and diamond Intertwined Snake bracelet from Elise Dray (US$26, 500).

As you may know, February 10 will ring in the Year of the Snake on the Chinese calendar. The snake/serpent motif has been used in jewelry design almost as long as goldsmithing has existed and it is of course the signature of both Bulgari and Boucheron. Here are a few current designs that beautifully add to the historical lineage of the symbol.
