Latest Revival, a very cool e-commerce site that sells designer and estate jewelry, is celebrating its first anniversary with a special capsule collection available now. Well-known contemporary jewelry labels Deborah Pagani, Delfina Delettrez, Monique Pean, Eddie Borgo, Lulu Frost, Maiyet, Jennifer Fisher and Pamela Love have each designed exclusive pieces for the site that range in price from $355 to north of $10,000. I’m rather partial to the Jennifer Fisher cuff pictured above and Deborah Pagani ring pictured just below, but I wouldn’t say no to any of the pieces. Check out the full offering here.
New York Fashion ‘Week’ is almost done (one more day to go!) and Day 8 brought out some great jewelry. Interestingly, the standout pieces were silver on this day. Women’s Wear Daily declared the huge Proenza Schouler orchid necklace pictured above its Accessory of the Day. At Bibhu Mohapatra, the structural silver necklaces by Gemma Redux were well matched to the collection and Dion Lee had some very cool silver pieces that featured pearls.
Gold was not completely left out. Joie opted to use pieces by Jennifer Fisher in a refreshingly spare way, as they are usually styled by the jewelry designer piled sky high. Erickson Beamon appeared on the runway again, this time at Anna Sui, and the pieces could not have been more different than the ones at Elie Tahari the day before. For Sui’s pre-Raphaelite inspired show, it was florals, butterflies and draped gold chains as headpieces and necklaces.
Sort-of jewelry related: I noticed that there was no jewelry to be found at Michael Kors, which I thought was incredibly odd given that he consistently shows it and big gold chains are a favored look. Delivery problems?? Also, the collection by Osklen was inspired entirely by gemstones although they only appeared in print form, not as jewelry.
Nordstrom, a long-time supporter of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, will open seven pop-up shops showcasing the 10 finalists work, including selected pieces by jewelers Jennifer Meyer and Jennifer Fisher. Stores in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago and Dallas, as well as the Nordstrom concept-store treasure&bond in Manhattan, will carry the designers pieces beginning Monday (February 11), but they will only be open as long as there is merchandise, so hurry in if you want some.
Just launched, Editorialist is an editorial/e-commerce site that focuses on luxury accessories and high-quality customer service. Their fine jewelry currently includes items like the US$250,000 diamond necklace designed by Jennifer Fisher for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund design competition sponsored by Tiffany & Co. and a David Webb boutique. The site ships internationally.
