I just thought I would share the latest creation from Alexandra Mor, which is a stunning ring featuring a 27.24 carat Asscher-cut aquamarine. I particularly love the Instagram photo below posted by Mor, which features the ring as part of a stack and says to me: “Oh, you know, just going out for dinner and drinks on a Tuesday and I threw this on.” And there is nothing more luxurious than that.
Talk about fortuitous timing! With emerald being the color of 2013 it’s the perfect opportunity for a major ad campaign for jewelry featuring the gemstone. Gemfields, who specializes in ethically mining emeralds in Zambia, has chosen Mila Kunis as the company’s first brand ambassador. A full ad campaign will be rolled out featuring pieces by Fabergé (recently acquired by Gemfields), Alexandra Mor, Dominic Jones and more.
Along with a revamped website in the spring, a new collaboration with 37 jewelry designers will be revealed in March.
Fashion Group International presented their 16th Annual Rising Star Awards on January 24 at Cipriani in New York. The fine jewelry category was won by Alexandra Mor, who beat out fellow nominees Jemma Wynne and Torrubia & Torrubia.
Mor is known for creating spectacular one of a kind pieces based around interesting and beautiful gemstones. The designs have a timelessness that speaks to her creed of creating tomorrow’s heirlooms. All her pieces are hand-crafted at her NYC studio to the highest quality level.
