Paris Fashion Week Day 2 Jewelry Round-up

It was a busy day at Paris Fashion Week on Day 2 with lots of jewelry to be seen.

Alexis Bittar made another appearance on a fashion week runway at Muglar with sculptural earrings especially made for show.

Dries Van Noten also brought some attention to the ear with a ‘full ear cuff’ of glued on crystals. Not practical for everyday, but could be interpreted in an interesting way. They were paired with a basic crystal necklace, a similar style that showed up a couple hours later at Rochas. Interestingly, the handbags at Rochas resembled jewelry travel rolls and were Women’s Wear Daily’s accessory of the day for February 27.

There was lots of gold on the runways with fine chains and charms from Alexis Mabille, bold cuffs and rings at A.P.C. and solid shiny collars from Undercover.

Jardin de Camélias: Chanel Fine Jewelry Latest Collection

18k gold, diamond and lacquer ‘Camélia Coromandel’ ring

The camellia is a well known symbol of Chanel and it is the singular inspiration of the latest fine jewelry collection from the house. Presented during Paris Couture Week in January, the 90 pieces are a mix of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and brooches that all feature the flower in varying ways. Some are purely white diamonds while others are a riot of color; there is surely something for everyone here. Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, watch the fantastic video on Chanel and diamonds here. It’s not to be missed.

Paris Fashion Week Day 1 Jewelry Round-up

Julien David won the prestigious ANDAM prize in 2012 and used some of his big paycheque to create a jewelry collection. On the runway he debuted a singular new piece, which was a necklace that almost resembled puzzle pieces not quite put together.

Milan Fashion Week Day 6 Jewelry Round-up

There were only two shows on the last day of Milan Fashion Week and they were both heavy on jewelry.

Gianfranco Ferré MFW Fall 2013

Gianfranco Ferré showed bibs that were so solid and large they actually could function as a bib. The chokers appeared in both metal and a variety of leathers and truly looked like armor.

The jewelry at Giorgio Armani’s show was… let’s say ‘all over the place’. If it were all taken off the models and presented as a collection the only cohesion would be that it was mainly black. Very strange.
